From their humble beginnings in the basement of St. Mary’s Church in New Haven, Connecticut under the direction of Fr. Michael McGivney, the Knights of Columbus has grown to the largest fraternal order of Catholic men in the world.
The Knights of Columbus of St. Francis de Sales are part of Van Nuys Council 3148. The Knights engage in many charitable works in the Valley as well as assisting and supporting parish events. In addition they are a ready and willing group when called upon to help.
The Knights are great supporters of Loaves and Fishes – a nearby Valley food and clothing assist for the poor. The Knights sponsor a food and clothing drive the first weekend of every month. Please bring canned or dried food and your used clothing to church the first weekend of the month and leave them in the church vestibule. The Knights take them to Loaves and Fishes on Monday.
You can also donate your used vehicle to the Knights of Columbus and receive a tax deduction. Call Knight Bob Lombardo for more information at 818-891-3239.
